Taking A Closer Look at Asian Dietary Culture

When it comes to Asian cuisine, there are a variety of differences depending on the region. There is a lot that goes into the different cultures of Asian foods- and that is something that has developed over many years. While there is a lot of difference, there are also some similarities. Here are some of the common cultures when it comes to different types of Asian food.

Southwestern Asian Cuisine

The first one that we will look at is the southwest style. This type includes the food that you will find in areas such as India and Pakistan. Naan, which is a type of flat bread, is very common in this area. They also eat a lot of kebabs, which is meat that is cooked on a stick. You will find many different spices, including lots of hot peppers and cloves within this particular type of cuisine. Rice is also very popular, but that is something that you find in most any Asian cuisine.

Northeastern Asian Cuisine

The next style is the Northeastern Asian style. This is where you will find foods like Chinese food, Japanese food and Korean food. They use a lot of oils and sauces in their many dishes. You will see a lot of fresh foods that are steamed in sauces that have a lot of flavor. You are also going to find deep fried foods, like tempura, and also some raw foods such as sushi. Most of the foods that you will eat from this area are sautéed.

Southeastern Asian Cuisine

A third cuisine is the southeastern style. This is going to include Thai food, Vietnamese food and Indonesian food- along with a few others. This is where you will find foods that are cooked quickly. Many of the stir fry dishes originated in these areas. You will also find that some of the food is steamed or boiled. In this area, they will use a few spices, but nothing too overbearing. They also use a lot of sauces like fish sauce to add extra flavor to the dishes.

These are the three most common cuisines that are found in the Asian dietary culture. In Asia, food is definitely one of the most important parts of life. When you compare each of these different styles, you will see that there are a lot of major differences. The taste is going to be something that is varied by region as well. You are sure to find dishes from each different culture that you like. Try to find authentic Asian food so that you can compare these for yourself. In America, it may be a bit tricky to find authentic Asian food. Most of the restaurants that you try will be Americanized and Asian inspired, but are not really true Asian dishes. If you get the chance to visit Asia, make sure that you take that as an opportunity to try some of these great cuisines and taste for yourself.
